We provide tailored systems to enhance site security and ensure business continuity, with in-depth pre-installation surveys and discussions to ensure each environment gets a fire alarm system that's fit for purpose. Armed with a vast range of fire detection, alarm, and suppression systems, our experienced teams of designers, engineers and installers ensure that you are protected and compliant with current fire safety regulations with a solution designed and integrated to suit your specific needs.
Introducing Smart Fire Alarm Management
Our brand new Smart Fire Alarm Management service will integrate into your existing fire alarm panel to capture and report fire alarm activity to ensure that your system remains compliant for auditing. The system is a non-intrusive addition to your existing fire alarm control panel, which communicates all fire activity to a cloud-hosted database - making everyday fire alarm management less of a burden.
What are the benefits of our service?
Keeps You Compliant: it can automatically log your fire alarm system activity, including weekly fire alarm tests, for compliance reporting and RRFSO legislative requirements
Notifications in Real-Time: it sends you live notifications, should there be an incident at one or multiple sites
Saves Time and Money: the service and test data is centrally recorded, which makes maintenance easier, as fewer engineers are required for planned maintenance visits
Reduces Workload with Automation: our secure cloud-hosted fire alarm management system replaces conventional logbook systems and automates routine tasks, delivering results to desktop and mobile
Fire Suppression System
A fire suppression system is designed to limit a fire’s ability to spread, minimise damage and extinguish the fire before it becomes too large.
Typically, a suppression system will be designed to operate within a defined area, but can be used across a whole floor or building, if needed. Fire suppression methods include cooling (removing the heat), starving (removing the fuel), asphyxiation (removing the oxygen) and disturbing the chemical chain reaction of a fire.
Fire Sprinklers
Fire sprinklers combine both mechanical and electrical capabilities to provide an additional degree of protection for both life and property above smoke and/or other fire detection systems.
A correctly designed and installed sprinkler system can detect and control a fire and activate an alarm before it has the time to do much damage. Correct operation of the system will rapidly reduce the production rate of heat and smoke, allowing more time for your employees to evacuate.
Fire Detection Systems
In addition to taking everyday fire prevention measures, investing in a professional fire alarm system is the answer to ensuring effective fire detection for your business.
As a critical and legally required component of any commercial building, the presence of a fire detection system will raise the alarm at the first sign of a fire on your premises. Not only does this help to maximise the life safety of your employees and customers, it reassures them that you take your responsibility to minimise the risks of fire to people and assets, seriously.
Our team of fire detection experts work with leading industry manufacturers to design wired, wireless, and hybrid systems that use the latest fire detection technology. Every new fire alarm installation we complete is supported by a service plan that includes essential maintenance and the option to connect your system to our 24/7 fire alarm monitoring service.
Fire Extinguishers
Even if your building or store is updated with the latest in fire warning and suppressant systems, fire extinguishers are still an essential asset when it comes to proofing your building against a fire emergency.
They can help quickly control small outbreaks of fire, preventing flames from spreading and causing more damage. In more severe emergencies, fire extinguishers can save lives by helping keep an evacuation route clear and providing crucial access to escape points.
Emergency Evacuation
Securitas Technology’s Emergency Evacuation solutions combine the detection capabilities of our advanced fire alarm system with the capabilities of emergency evacuation to provide a comprehensive life safety system for your building.
When our systems detect fires, they will not only alert the appropriate authorities, they will also activate your building’s evacuation and communications systems. This can provide a crucial channel between first responders and your building occupants, helping ensure enhanced safety for all involved.
The Main Components of a Fire Alarm System
Fire alarm systems can be very complex, and many will depend on the requirements of individual sites and client needs. However, all systems will include some core components.
Commonly used as the primary interface with the fire alarm system, the panel can be used as a connection point to communicate with connected devices and detectors, report the system status, review alarms and check incoming data. Panels can be preconfigured units or designed to suit your requirements.
Carefully positioned around a building and tested regularly, detector units can detect heat, smoke and carbon monoxide, or a combination of all three. Some systems may also include CCTV video units that will detect flame.
Often, manual call points are the most noticeable parts of a fire alarm system, positioned around a building in convenient and accessible positions. Anyone discovering a fire should be able to easily activate the system to raise the alarm.
While sounders and bells may not be obvious to a casual visitor, once activated, they will be hard to ignore. Audible alarms need to be heard throughout the building above any normal background noise, and may include bells, sirens and pre-recorded spoken instructions.
Most helpful in noisy environments where workers may be using ear protection, visual alarms can be used to indicate an alarm and a specific location.
Also known as relays, interfaces control equipment that may be connected to your alarm system. They can be used for a variety of things, depending on your system requirements (such as lift grounding or monitoring the sprinkler system).

Fire Marshal Training for Company Safety
A fire marshal, or warden, is the person responsible for fire safety within a company. This person must undertake professional training to learn the ins and outs of fire safety, including what precautions need to be taken, how to maintain fire extinguishers and the management of fire evacuation plans. Our training course is suitable for those who oversee fire safety in their building or company, designated fire marshals and wardens and those who need to know how to use a fire extinguisher. The course covers how fires are caused, the risks associated with fire, the principles of fire safety management at work, fire extinguisher demonstrations and more.

- an alarm control panel which requires an input signal from either a detector sensing a fire, or an individual discovering a fire and pressing a button
- a Manual Call Point (“Break Glass”)
- an alarm, which will generally be audible, visual or both
A “fire alarm system” includes any systems that can provide signals to initiate the operation of fire protection systems and equipments, such as fire extinguishers, smoke control, automatic door release systems or other safety measures.
A fire alarm system can include:
- Fire monitoring and dispatch

In almost all commercial site buildings and accommodation premises, fire doors are a legal requirement. You should inspect and maintain your fire doors every six months. Third-party certification is the minimum standard required for fire doors provided by door manufacturers, and Securitas Technology will only use fire door suppliers and manufacturers that are certified.
A Fire Risk Assessment is a document that reviews a premise and makes an assessment of the risks that the people working there would be exposed to in the case of a fire. A Fire Risk Assessment is part of a fire alarm inspection, which is done annually.
We’ll provide thorough inspection and assessment to help ensure you’re operating within regulation, with feedback and guidance to help you get back on track if you’re missing any requirements.
